I have lived in neighboring Pinellas County on the west side of Tampa Bay. Tampa Florida is in Hillsborough County on the east side of Tampa Bay. The Interstate I-75 bridge carries the most traffic between Hillsborough and Pinellas. The Gandy Bridge runs between South Tampa and Northern St Petersburg, while the Courtney Campbell Causeway connects West Tampa near the airport with Safety Harbor and Clearwater in Pinellas County. Traffic is usually heavier in Hillsborough County.
Cypress Point Park shown in the video is at the west end of Cypress Street just south of Tampa Airport so planes fly overhead often. This park is out of the way yet close to several hotels in the Rocky Point area. it’s usually visited only by locals in Tampa Florida.
All Tampa buses connect at the Marion Street Transit Center on the north side of Downtown Tampa. Frequent weekday bus service departs for St Petersburg plus some interstate service..
The cruise ship terminal is in the Channelside District near the public docks. The downtown Tampa Riverwalk along the Hillsborough River is directly across from the University of Tampa. There is a children’s museum a block away from the Riverwalk at Curtiss Hixon Park. An art museum and public library are close by. Tampa Zoo is on Sligh Avenue near Interstate 275 north of downtown. The Raymond James Stadium is on Dale Mabry Avenue east of the airport.
SoHo is a trendy area around South Howard Avenue near the Hyde Park Neighborhood. Directly south of Downtown Tampa is Davis Islands, a mostly residential area. Seaplane Basin Park and Peter O’Knight Airport are at the south end of Davis Islands and across from the Port of Tampa. The University of South Florida campus is several miles north of Downtown Tampa near the Interstate 275 and Fletcher Avenue exit.
