Fort Pierce Florida

Along the Atlantic coast is the city of Fort Pierce Florida. Here in St Lucie County Video shows a walking tour of Marina Square, the Downtown Fort Pierce waterfront park. US Highway One runs right through Fort Pierce Florida, while Interstate 95 runs close to the coast a few miles inland. The Navy SEAL museum displays many military artifacts and the history of these naval divers. A popular fishing village, the city is the Indian River County seat and is built along the Indian River Lagoon. St Lucie County is known as the jewel of the Treasure Coast.

No airline service here, the closest airports would be at Palm Beach International Airport to the south and the Orlando Area airports to the northwest. There is a free CityTram service operating limited hours around the small downtown Fort Pierce area. The ART- Area Regional Transit is the St Lucie County public transportation system.

Enjoy Dolphin Watch boat tours, kayak touring and horseback riding along the beach at Frederick Douglass Memorial Park. While having all the big city amenities, Fort Plerce and the surrounding area still have that Old Florida small town feel.

The Fort Pierce Inlet State Park is a snorkeling and scuba diver favorite. Zora Neale Hurston Dust Tracks Trail is the place for hiking. There is a Manatee Observation and Education Center along Indian River Drive, a nature center with displays showing all the local aquatic life in this area. Those seeking nature trails will find them at Oak Hammock Park under big oak trees.
